My Weekend in LA

I have my fair share of dinners with friends in Los Angeles. Sometimes, my boyfriend Brian and I make our way up for a Sunday Funday. But last weekend, we took his parents up on their offer to stay in an AirBNB in the hills above Echo Park for a family wedding. We took it as an opportunity to explore neighborhoods east of the Hollywood sign, and about 10 degrees hotter than our typical beach locale.

Good news for this look, May Gray still exists, so I sported my trusty leather jacket as a third piece. If there isn’t a leather jacket in your wardrobe, make your way to the nearest Zara and pick one up. You can thank me later.

Ikat and washed indigo? Brian’s parents know me too well.

Millie’s Cafe has existed since the 20s. Sit down and experience the blueberry pancakes, pure maple syrup, and chorizo breakfast tacos…and you’ll see why.

Matcha makes me crazy. As in happy crazy. I was addicted to coffee prior to investing in matcha powder, but now that I’ve moved on from wired coffee-inducing speed-talking to the focus of matcha there is no going back.

My favorite guy made me feel so at home with his family from South Dakota. I wish I had more photos from the wedding, but with the number of photographers present, I’m sure I’ll post those later. A fun combination of humor and romance, plus realism and hopeful well-wishes made for a glorious evening. When I think about love, I think about balance and I this wedding captured that perfectly.
